Bankroll Management
We all know how easy it to overspend. Whether you are at the supermarket, down the pub, buying some new clothes, or having a quick flutter over at Joe Fortune, if you don’t have a game plan, you can quickly find yourself out of pocket, and nobody likes that. That is why I have devised this four-part bankroll management system to help you all keep yourselves in the black.
Only play with you can afford to lose
Always work out how much you want to put into a gaming session before you start. The amount you choose should be a figure that you don’t mind losing, and thought of as simply how much you’d like to spend on that day or night’s entertainment. If you were heading out to a physical casino or a bar you’d budget your spending for the night, so think of online gaming in exactly the same way – that way you are always prepared for the potential loss, and never wake up with any regrets. Plus, when you win big, you haven’t even overspent to get there. It’s win-win.
Plan out your gaming sessions
Once you have had a think about how much you’re going to deposit to play at the casino, then decide about how many sessions you will be wanting to play. From here, simply divide the bankroll by the amount of sessions you will be playing over. This may seem like an obvious one, but working it out up-front will help create boundaries that can prevent you from getting too immersed in a session and overspending. Set yourself a timer, or a forced deadline, and make sure you stick to it.
Don’t play outside of your budget
Finding a slot game that matches your budget will help you get the best value for money, and ensure you get more spins in during each session. With a lot of different variations and options on each game, it is important to choose what you play wisely. With denominations usually ranging between $0.01 to $2 for each coin wagered, each spin can be considerably more or less than the last with a small tweak, so make sure you are aware of how much you are betting each time. On top of this, the amount of paylines you choose can multiply your spin cost by up to 50X in some games, so stick to the more basic 3-reel, one payline slots if you want to keep things small, and look for the 5-reel slots with up to 50 paylines if you feel like going big.
Save your winnings
This technique is a classic, and reduces the chances of you finishing a session empty-handed. Simply put – don’t spend your winnings. Know how much you are planning to spend on your gaming session, and then stick to only spending that amount. Anything extra that you win should be saved for another time, or used for withdrawing. This technique is used a lot in real life casinos with gamblers using winning and spending pockets or cups, but with a bit of thought, you can use this system when playing online and make sure you have something left over at the end of the day.
Keeping these simple bankroll management measures in mind each time you play will ensure that you stay on budget, and give you the best chance of success when playing online.
